Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jun 19, 2019 /prREACH/ -- IntelliTec College is excited to announce that DVMD LLC in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Asher College in Sacramento, California have purchased the assets of IntelliTec College and taken over ownership of the technical college. IntelliTec has four campus locations in Colorado and New Mexico and offers hands-on training for in-demand careers.

This is an exciting new chapter in the 54-year story of IntelliTec College. The previous ownership of IntelliTec is a closely held private organization that was formed for the sole purpose of acquiring IntelliTec back in 2000. Mike Schranz, the previous Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our ownership group has passed the 70-yard line, so to speak, and we feel this is the time to turn over ownership of IntelliTec so it can continue our original vision of continuous growth and service to the community.” The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

IntelliTec College was founded as Technical Trades Institute in Colorado Springs in July of 1965 with campuses in Colorado Springs and Grand Junction Colorado. Classes offered were Drafting and Electronics. The College was purchased in 2000 and over the next 19 years expanded into Pueblo, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The new change of ownership is a continuation in that story of growth and service.

IntelliTec students will benefit from this change, as it brings an expansion of services and program offerings. David Vice, Chief Executive Officer of DVMD LLC, emphasizes this change will mean increased benefits to both the students and community. Vice said, “This will mean expanded programs, blended learning environments, the latest tools and technology, and strong financial resources to ensure our students achieve the outcomes they expect.”

CEO David Vice brings a variety of passion and experience to IntelliTec. In addition to owning and operating Asher College in California, Nevada, and Texas for over 20 years, Mr. Vice has dedicated many years of his life in service to the adult education sector. He has served on the CECU board (Career Education Colleges and Universities) for the past three years and is the current Chair. He is a past President of the CAPPS (The California Association for Private and Postsecondary) Board of Directors where he served for seven years in various capacities and he is a past ACCET Commissioner (Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training) where he served for seven years.

For current students of IntelliTec, it’s important to know there will be no interruption to their education or training programs. Wayne Zellner, current Vice President of Operations assures students, “The most important things students need to know about this is there will be no change in what our students enrolled for, and the only impact they should feel will be continued improvements across all campuses moving forward.”

With this change in ownership, IntelliTec College will continue to produce the skilled technical professionals required for both today and tomorrow’s workforce. IntelliTec is excited about this new partnership and intends to continue to build employment opportunities for all individuals in the community.
