Nov 05, 2015 /prREACH/ -- CHICAGO – Nov. 2, 2015 – Continued high levels of stress in the workplace has spurred an increase in resiliency training programs, according to the ComPsych 2015 StressPulse report. Some 56 percent of employees say they are experiencing high levels of stress, accompanied by extreme fatigue and feeling out of control, according to the report. ComPsych Corporation is the world’s largest provider of employee assistance programs and is the pioneer and worldwide leader of fully integrated EAP, behavioral health, wellness, work-life, HR, FMLA and absence management services under its GuidanceResources brand.

The continued prevalence of workplace stress, and its impact on health, productivity and morale, has resulted in employers increasingly making stress reduction part of an overall well-being strategy. As a result, ComPsych has seen a dramatic increase in EAP customers requesting stress-reduction training sessions, with the most popular topics being in the areas of:

  • Resiliency
  • Mindfulness
  • Dealing with financial and credit issues
  • Managing change and conflict
  • Relaxation techniques

“These learning programs, delivered both in person and online, help employees develop lasting skills to address stress,” said Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, Founder, Chairman and CEO of ComPsych. “The training sessions continue to be among [the company's] most-requested services, as they help both employees and organizations perform better.” Key findings of StressPulse

  • When asked what their biggest cause of stress at home was, the largest group of employees – 35 percent – said “financial issues.”
  • Twenty-eight percent of employees miss three to six days per year due to stress.
  • “Presenteeism,” or the belief that being present at work is the top priority, increased by 20 points (from 19 percent to 39 percent) from the previous year.
