Aug 19, 2014 /prREACH/ -- Tucson, AZ Invisalign dentist, Dr. Michael Allen, is helping his teen and adult patients discover how they can be happy, comfortable, and confident with their orthodontic treatment even while they’re working to make the appearance of their smile better. With Invisalign therapy that Dr. Allen offers at his office, patients no longer have to deal with the clunky metal wires and brackets associated with traditional braces, but yet can still achieve a straight smile.

Since its release into the market, Invisalign therapy has quickly become one of the most in-demand orthodontic treatments for teen and adult patients not only for its near-invisible appearance, but also for the lifestyle flexibility it offers. Invisalign aligners are virtually unnoticeable when worn, and are also completely removable for eating, drinking, and for special occasions when patients want to look their very best.

“Invisalign offers a completely different experience than what patients find with traditional metal braces,” said Dr. Allen. “We’re happy to offer this treatment because we find that Invisalign patients are often much more satisfied with their experience during the course of their treatment, in addition to being ecstatic about the end result. With Invisalign, patients don’t have to feel like they’re detracting from their appearance first before making it better with a straight smile.”

To complete the Invisalign therapy, patients wear a series of custom-made clear aligners that are designed using the latest 3D technology. Each aligner, which is made with soft, clear plastic, has a specific mold that gradually shifts the patient’s teeth into alignment. Because Invisalign applies different forces to the teeth than do traditional braces, patients often experience much less pain as a result of the movement of their teeth.

Invisalign patients are instructed to wear their aligners for approximately 22 hours each day, removing them while eating and for drinking anything other than water. If needed, patients can also remove the aligners for important presentations, interviews, meetings, reunions, or photographs at their discretion.

Not every patient is a candidate for Invisalign therapy, but it has been proven to correct mild to moderate orthodontic issues. These include moderate or mild gapping, crowding, misalignment, and bit issues such as crossbites, overbites, and underbites.

In addition to offering Invisible braces for orthodontic patients, Dr. Allen also provides a wide range of general and cosmetic dental services to help patients achieve their best smiles. Some of these services include tooth-colored fillings, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, porcelain crowns, and more.

Dr. Allen is a native of Arizona and has been practicing dentistry for several years. He completed his dental education at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona and spent several years working at a community health center where he provided dental work for under-served families in Southern Arizona.
