Lumineers are superior to traditional resin veneers because they are much thinner, are reversible, and provide a much more natural, translucent appearance.

Traditional veneers required extensive preparation of the teeth through anesthesia and drilling to create a surface that the veneers could attach to. Lumineers, on the other hand, are only as thick as a contact lens and don’t require any drilling or etching of the teeth for preparation. As such, they are completely reversible. Their unique, thin porcelain design allows them to be highly translucent as well, giving the appearance of near-natural teeth. Although they are extremely thin, Lumineers are designed to last up to 20 years.
To complete the Lumineer procedure, Dr. Lopez first takes a mold of the patient’s teeth to ensure that correct measurements are received. The molds are then sent to an external lab that creates each individual Lumineer specific to the patient’s teeth. Approximately two weeks later, the patient returns and the Lumineers are placed on the surface of the teeth, and within approximately one hour, patients have a dramatically new bright, white smile they can be proud of.
