Jul 02, 2014 /prREACH/ -- Dr. Ryan Crain of Texas Grins Family Dentistry in Willow Park, TX recently introduced new technology that is helping patients get new restorative crowns, veneers, and on-lays in only one office visit. CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, is one of the latest developments in dentistry that is providing patients with more accurate, efficient care.

Traditionally, patients needing crowns, veneers, or on-lays for cosmetic or restorative treatment had to visit the dentist office at least 2-3 times to complete the procedure over a period of 2-3 weeks. With CEREC, the entire process is reduced to just a few hours. Best of all, the decrease in time required does not increase the cost of the procedure.

“At Texas Grins, we’re committed to providing our patients the best dentistry has to offer,” said Dr. Ryan Crain, cosmetic and dental implants dentist in Willow Park, TX. “We’re excited about this new CEREC technology because it allows us to give our patients better care and services in a way that’s more convenient for their lifestyle.”

The in-office CEREC machine uses state-of-the-art computer imaging and laser technology to complete the ceramic restorations. Prior to CEREC, these were outsourced to external labs for completion. Dr. Crain carefully measures and designs the new restoration, and the CEREC machine uses the measurements to mill the restorations out of a small ceramic block with high-powered lasers. As soon as the ceramic restoration is completed, it can be fitted and placed on the patient. If any adjustments are needed, they can be provided at the same appointment.

With CEREC technology, patients are not required to endure messy impressions, multiple appointments, or temporary restoration while in the process of improving their smile. The high-tech imaging and laser software allows for an accurate, precisely-fitted restoration that is comfortable and long-lasting for the patient.

In addition to providing same-day crowns, veneers, and restorations, Dr. Crain and his staff at Texas Grins also provide a variety of other dental services. For those who have anxiety or fear of dental visits, Dr. Crain is a trained sedation dentist in Willow Park, TX. He is also a preferred Invisalign provider and provides teeth whitening in Willow Park, TX.

Dr. Ryan Crain is a member of the ADA, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Fort Worth District Dental Society, and East Parker County Chamber, and several other organizations. Dr. Crain is committed to giving back to the community, and recently traveled to Guatemala to provide dental services to remote communities.
