Oct 24, 2013 /prREACH/ -- Stress plays a larger role in the development of cancer than we have been led to believe, said Bruce Lipton, a developmental biologist and professor at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. Dr. Lipton, who appears on BeWellBuzz’s Wellness Wednesdays, said “epigenetic control” is a new biology that will take people from “victims to masters of their health.” “In short, stress empowers cancer,” he said. Epigenetic control is an emerging science revealing that humans can either be at the mercy of our genes or use the power of the mind to master them. Dr. Lipton said this approach removes the mystery and randomness behind diseases such as cancer and presents a clear solution. “Avoid stress like the plague and pursue peace, a healthy life depends on it,” he said. Lipton presents his approach as a contrast to what he calls the “genetic control dogma” of the past 60 years. He said DNA isn’t a blueprint for one’s life, but a map of potentialities. People determine their health based their beliefs, which affect one’s behavior choices, lifestyle and emotions. Then these tell a person’s DNA which genes to activate. Lipton said people must change their beliefs and nurse their emotional state to health.
