Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nov 14, 2020 /prREACH/ -- IntelliTec College has announced enrollment is now open for a new Massage Therapy program beginning at the Albuquerque, New Mexico campus. The next start date for Massage Therapy at Albuquerque will be Jan. 11, 2021.

IntelliTec College is a career training institute providing the training necessary for in-demand careers, including medical assisting, medical billing and coding, HVAC technology, and automotive technology. Massage therapy is a rapidly expanding field, and certified massage therapists typically find their high demand services nationwide. While the COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges for in-person services like massage, training for a career in massage therapy remains a viable and promising option for the future for students who enjoy healing and helping others. IntelliTec is expanding the massage therapy program to Albuquerque to help meet the future need for these specially trained workers.

David Vice, President and CEO of IntelliTec, announced the college’s decision to bring the massage therapy program to Albuquerque students. Vice said, “Our mission at IntelliTec is to provide students with the training programs they need for success. Our students want programs that will prepare them for the future, and they want to invest in themselves now. We are excited to extend our massage therapy program to Albuquerque, so we can better serve our students and the community there.”

Massage therapists use therapeutic touch to provide relaxation, relieve pain and stress, and rehabilitate injuries. IntelliTec College’s Massage Therapy program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). All courses are taught by industry professionals in a hands-on learning environment. IntelliTec students learn massage therapy techniques designed to increase circulation, relieve tension, reduce  stress, relieve  anxiety, improve sleep, and promote  relaxation throughout the entire body and many other benefits. At IntelliTec, students learn the skills to properly perform Swedish, Therapeutic, and Deep Tissue Massage Therapy, massage techniques for specific injuries, detailed client assessments, session documentation, and treatment planning.

The Massage Therapy program at IntelliTec is designed to be achievable in as few as 9 months. Upon completing the program, students are prepared to sit for professional certifications, including the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEX), administered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards. IntelliTec graduates will also be prepared to sit for the Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork exam administered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). Nationally-recognized industry certifications such as these demonstrate to potential employers the job candidate’s skill and knowledge level.
