Apr 20, 2016 /prREACH/ -- LandToHunt, an online marketplace for hunters and landowners to list, search, and reserve hunting land all over the country, has recently added a new feature that allows land owners to verify the authenticity of hunters, as well as the ability to check if hunters are properly licensed.

“LandToHunt is doing everything possible to minimize the amount of work landowners must do in order to investigate hunters that want to hunt on their property,” said Mark Hebert, CEO of LandToHunt. “This is one step the company takes towards making it easier for landowners to know they are getting quality hunters on their property.”

The authentication process, currently already in use through LandToHunt’s website, is considered industry leading and involves a multi-step process in order to verify the hunter. The authentication is intended to weed out potentially unsafe or unlicensed hunters.

Hunters that are approved through the process earn an “Approved Hunter Badge” which allows hunters to hunt on better properties for cheaper rates, according to the LandToHunt website.

“Game conservation and property protection are very important, and this new feature helps to ensure only the most responsible hunters and those with proper hunting licenses are allowed on the land listed on LandToHunt,” Hebert added.

In order to become approved, the hunter must go through a five-step process. That process is as follows:

Step 1: Verification of Photo ID

Step 2: Authentication of Hunting Licenses

Step 3: Email Confirmation

Step 4: Mailing Address Verification

Step 5: Phone Number Validation

According to Hebert, the approval process benefits both hunters and landowners.

“By being selective about the hunters, both landowners and hunters tend to have a more enjoyable experience, and at a lower cost,” he said.

LandToHunt is a community where hunters can search for available land to hunt on, at rates that may be significantly cheaper than through private rentals. Additionally, landowners can list their land direct to the website.
