Jun 26, 2014 /prREACH/ -- East Texas Spa, a hot tub and sauna dealer with stores in Tyler and Longview, TX shares tips for National Men’s Health Month. “Fitness is something many people talk about, but most don’t end up taking action on. Losing weight is one of the most common reasons stated for wanting to get fit, and that’s an important reason considering the obesity epidemic in America. There are a lot of other reasons we should all work harder at getting fit, however,” said Randall Glaske, president of East Texas Spa.

“Combined with losing weight, a “side-effect” of these healthy lifestyle actions and the increase in internal health, these three healthy lifestyle tips will leave people looking and feeling better, and help them live longer,” continued Glaske. Here are the top three ways to get fit.

Eat Right – Avoid eating sugar, white flour, pasta, and simple carbohydrates. The carbohydrate issue is hardest for some people to understand. Carbs are an important part of a daily diet. They provide important fuel for the body, especially the brain. For that reason, it isn’t a good idea to go on a carb free diet of high protein alone. The problem is, figuring out which carbs are good and which are bad is confusing for a lot of people.

Good carbohydrates come from plants. The carbs found in vegetables, fruit, and legumes such as beans, help build strong bodies and while they do still create sugar when broken down, just like the ‘bad’ carbs do, the break down takes a long time, vs the quick way bad carbs break down. That means the sugar is slowly released, and used as energy instead of overwhelming the system and then being stored to become fat.

Read labels. Avoid any foods that contain items like glucose, lactose, or sucrose. These are simple sugars that will be hard for the body to adjust to, and create sugar rushes that are followed by the feeling of lethargy and increased hunger that causes overeating.

Exercise Regularly – The human body was made to move. In days before technology, people had to work constantly to get their daily food. They had to labor in fields or cover large amounts of ground to find food. Now they simply have to move to the kitchen. To stay fit, they need to find other ways and reasons to move.

If daily exercise is boring, or hard to fit into a busy schedule, find other ways to increase the need to move. Park further from the door, or ditch the car altogether and walk to appointments or the store. Do exercises while watching television instead of sitting on the couch all evening, and treat elevators and escalators like evil technology and take the stairs whenever possible.

Relax Daily in a Hot Tub – Find the time to relax every day. Even though people have to move less to get things done in today’s world, it is a much more stressful life than  ancestors experienced. Work, school, family duties, and even  hobbies make people so busy that their bodies are under a constant bombardment of mental stimulus that can cause internal stress. Soak in a hot tub for extra hydrotherapeutic results. Soaking in a hot tub for 30 minutes a day helps provide relief from many illnesses according to the American Cancer Society.

“We think this is a great opportunity to actually show local residents the positive effects that soaking in a hot tub can have in terms of improving the overall quality of their lives. That’s why we will provide VIP hot tub test soaks in both of our East Texas locations throughout the entire month,” said Chris Ogden, Longview Branch Manager.

“We want residents to check out all the benefits of a relaxing in hot tub for themselves.” A VIP test soak includes gourmet chocolates and a glass of champagne that can be enjoyed while experiencing the many benefits of a soaking in a Hot Spring Spa. VIP test soaks are by appointment only and can be scheduled after hours with a 48-hour notice.
