Jul 04, 2013 /prREACH/ -- AVENTURA, FL – Men’s testosterone levels continue to plummet one percent a year causing many to get fat, sick and sometimes even die.

Testosterone expert Benjamin Ravaru has identified seven surprising things about testosterone and how it can drastically affect a man’s life. Testosterone is becoming increasingly recognized by the medical profession as one of the most vital factors in men’s health. With a reported 13 million men in the US suffering from low testosterone, sales of natural testosterone boosters are soaring.

A study published this July showed that between 2001 and 2011, testosterone prescriptions for men age 40 and older more than tripled.

Testosterone expert Benjamin Ravaru, CEO of online health store Niwali which owns Advanced Test-O-Boost, says a man who lacks adequate testosterone may be damaging his health. “A man with low testosterone is more likely to suffer sexual problems, be overweight, depressed and maybe die from a heart attack and cancer," Ravaru says. “Testosterone is responsible for the increase in men's lean muscle tissue, energy, sex drive, bone formation and immune function.” Hollywood is even recognizing the growing understanding of testosterone, with characters suffering declining levels depicted in movies. Alec Baldwin's character in 2009's It's Complicated, suffers a distinct lack of testosterone, as does Tommy Lee Jones' character in 2012's Hope Springs. Meryl Streep plays the female love interest in both films and successfully reinvigorates them to testosterone-fuelled life of heightened sexual appetite and increased energy. Ravaru refers to a study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism which found testosterone levels in men had dropped 17 percent in the previous 17 years.

Here, Ravaru outlines seven surprising things you probably didn’t know about testosterone:

1. Men’s testosterone levels start declining after age 25.

2. By the time men reach their 50s and 60s, they may be running on only half the testosterone they had in their 20s.

3. Lower testosterone levels can increase risk of depression, diabetes, obesity, erectile dysfunction and can make men more likely to die of a heart attack or cancer.

4. Testosterone levels can be boosted by direct sunlight exposure, good nutrition, lifting heavy weights in the gym and testosterone supplements. Men in their 40s represent the highest group of users of natural testosterone-boosting supplements

5. High testosterone levels help men attract women. A Wayne State University Study found men with higher testosterone levels were more assertive and generally more successful with women.

6. High testosterone makes men smarter longer. Dutch researchers studying 400 men found a correlation between high testosterone levels in men aged 70 to 80 and greater cognitive function.

7. Testosterone levels fluctuate throughout the day, with the highest peak in the morning.

Ravaru encourages men to determine their total testosterone levels by taking a test at their local doctor's clinic as close as possible to 8am, when daily levels peak. He says results should range between a low of 300 and a high of 1,000. Ravaru adds that customers taking Niwali's Advanced Test-O-Boost testosterone supplement regularly reported remarkable changes.

“Men who take Advanced Test-O-Boost are always telling us their sexual performance has improved,” he says.

“They feel more muscular, have more energy, lose fat around the belly and are not as tired as they once were.

Advanced Test-O-Boost has all-natural products and when taken with a good diet and exercise routine, can significantly boost testosterone levels. This gets men firing again.” To learn more about Niwali and Advanced Test-O-Boost, go to: www.niwali.com
