Jun 08, 2015 /prREACH/ -- New Day Consulting Systems (New Day), a company operating from Reston, Virginia, has announced plans to target millennials in its branding, marketing and franchise development services. New Day has researched and developed a foundational strategy for successful franchise development for the 21st century marketplace that includes targeting millennials as customers for business growth, franchisees and future start up franchise developers.

2015 is the year millennials are projected to number 75.3 million, surpassing the projected 74.9 million baby boomers. Millennials will spend approximately $200 billion annually by 2017, $10 trillion over their lifetimes as consumers, in the U.S. alone. And an estimated $59 trillion in large part will be transferred to millennials from baby boomers in the next 30 years. This would be the greatest generational transfer of wealth in the history of the U.S.

Millennials are one of the most important demographic segments for the global economy. The impact that millennials will make on businesses and franchises is undeniable based upon the sheer size of the demographic, impending wealth transfer, education, tech savvy and their influence on cultural norms and values. Franchises that tap into the shift that millennials bring to the U.S. economy will prosper substantially in the 21st century. Franchises that ignore or downplay the importance of this demographic will find it difficult, if not impossible, to survive in the next 30-50 years.

Kimberly Bonner of New Day states, “New Day is different from so many other franchise development firms because we assist founders build into their franchise system a forward thinking framework and approach that anticipates changing demographics and cultural trends that will impact the US and global economy for the next 30-50 years. Although we cannot say for certain what technologies and world events will take place in the next 50 years, we do know that there is a great probability that millennials will impact markets and franchising in the same way baby boomers impacted franchising in the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s.”

New Day is committed to disseminating information on how to run franchises in today’s climate and innovate to prepare for the future. Recently, New Day posted an article to its website entitled Millennials, Brand Evangelism and Franchising. The article details the impact millennials will have on markets for goods and services in the next 30-50 years and their impact on the future of franchising. New Day continues to do outreach to millennials about franchising, entrepreneurship and innovation. As part of New Day’s continued outreach to millennials, the company will participate in events around the Washington, DC region associated with the national “Week of Making” from June 12-18, 2015. The week will coincide with the National Maker Faire in D.C. June 12th-13th, 2015.

The National Maker Faire features makers from across the country and will include participation by federal agencies including: the Department of Education, National Science Foundation, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Small Business Administration, Institute of Museum and Library Services, National Institute of Standards and Technology, NASA, Corporation for National and Community Service, Department of Homeland Security and the Smithsonian. “The maker community has great potential to impact education and learning enrichment franchise development. Since personal services, and education in particular, is the industry niche for New Day, we are actively seeking out members of the maker community to develop new education and learning enrichment brands that provide the STEM learning opportunities that so many traditional schools and educational franchises do not provide,” according to Bonner.
