Jun 24, 2015 /prREACH/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, reports today that Boston Scientific Corporation was ordered to pay $100 million to a Delaware woman in the first verdict against them since the company agreed to pay $119 million to settle approximately 3,000 cases over their transvaginal mesh products. This latest verdict was the largest yet. The woman plaintiff claimed the vaginal mesh inserts eroded in her body after being implanted, leaving her in constant pain and unable to have sexual intercourse. The high $100MM verdict came just after Boston Scientific agreed to settle about 3,000 cases for $119 million. According to Bloomberg News, a state court jury in Delaware found that Boston Scientific’s Pinnacle and Advantage Fit inserts were defectively designed, and that executives in the company hid the flaws from the patient. Additionally, according to Bloomberg, the jurors also found Boston Scientific engaged in fraud due to their failure in alerting doctors of the faulty devices’ design.

According to an article in Reuters, Boston Scientific still faces over 25,000 mesh claims in federal and state courts throughout the U.S. Thousands of claims against Boston Scientific are still pending, and they’ve been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) under U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin in the Southern District of West Virginia (Boston Scientific MDL 2326).

Lawsuit Settlement News urges women who are having complications with any of the transvaginal mesh products or bladder or pelvic slings that were implanted in the last five years to seek immediate legal consultation to determine if they may have a potential claim and are eligible for compensation. Time may be limited to do so as more manufacturers settle the claims against them. Settlements and jury verdicts in other cases with serious side effects and multiple revision surgeries have netted some plaintiffs settlements in the $500K range. In order to obtain compensation, plaintiffs must file a timely lawsuit with the assistance of a mesh law firm.

Those who have been injured by a transvaginal mesh device and need lawsuit money or lawsuit help, including finding a TVM law firm, obtaining up to $30K in pre-settlement lawsuit funding, or obtaining surgical funding for those currently without insurance, call 877.571.0405.

Quotes
“It has been clear that the public has not viewed the Boston Scientific cases in a positive light for the manufacturer. Although this award is out of the norm and will most likely be reduced, women across the country should recognize that their mesh implant problems are real and that the compensation for their injuries could be significant if they decide to hire a transvaginal mesh law firm to fight for their rights.”
