Sep 23, 2015 /prREACH/ -- Coral Gables, FL, September 19, 2015 - The Miami Shores OptFirst team was out in full force for the second year in a row supporting Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation during their annual 5k Run/Walk. The 5K raises money for children and families at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
The OptFirst Warriors were all ready to show off their recent training, but it is very obvious that this fundraising event means more than just a race. The Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation is near and dear to John Kriney’s, founder of OptFirst, heart.“Participating in this community event is the best way to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Hospital while supporting the children and families that are going through very tough times.”
The passion to support the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation was felt throughout the team. Adelice Garcia, Operations Manager said, “The OptFirst team wants to be here for all the kids and families that are going through such trying times.” The event brought in hundreds of participants and volunteers from the greater Miami area that all have a connection to the Hospital’s Foundation.
The morning started off with a Zumba warm up lead by Youfit. During the run, volunteers lined the running area with refreshing water for the runners. After crossing the finish line, participants were greeted with cheers and a metal badge. There were tons of activities for children and adults alike, all proceeds going to the Foundation. The OptFirst Warriors wanted to thank their sponsors, Shirt Magic, the custom printing clothing company, who donated the OptFirst t-shirts.
