Boston, Massachusetts: The top minds in the world of health care education will descend on the campus of Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health for a conference entitled “Leadership Strategies for Evolving Health Care Executives”. The conference runs from October 25th through the 30th, and will consist of presentations and talks focusing on systems specific to health care, with the goal of building leadership and management, helping attendees develop conflict resolution, operational analysis, and employee management skills. A wide range of speakers will present, but the only non-university invitee is best-selling author Mitch Axelrod.

Mr. Axelrod will be presenting a groundbreaking session on his trademarked “Soul-Role-Goal” model of health care leadership. At its core, the model is designed to usher in a new generation of health care leaders, grounded in empathy, compassion and humanity. This is in stark contrast to the traditional, systemic and stressful goal-oriented industry pressures that have a damaging impact on health care management.

“When a goal puts so much pressure on our role to perform, we tend to ignore our soul. We forget why we’re doing the work we’ve chosen and the value we contribute. We lose a sense of meaning and purpose,” explains Mr. Axelrod. “This creates soul frustration, role frustration and goal frustration that sap our energy, reduce our clarity and diminish our health. Eliminating these stressors positively impact health, well being and performance.”

In addition to this drastic change in perspective, attending health care leaders will come away from Mr. Axelrod’s session with an understanding of how to use Axiology, the science of utilizing true human value to play to strengths, find greater satisfaction in work, and to enhance the patient relationship. In order to insure the attendees enjoy maximum value, each participant in Mr. Axelrod’s presentation will receive a personalized value profile report, which identifies 10 top strengths, and five limitations that can most interfere with performance.

Axelrod says, “There is no greater knowing than to know yourself. It’s a light bulb moment. People are re-energized when they discover talents and abilities they’re not using to the fullest.”

David Javitch, Ph.D. Harvard Leadership Program Director said, “We at Harvard are excited to have Mitch share his "Soul-Role-Goal™" model with our health care leaders. It’s a fresh, new approach that’s made a big impact on me. Health care leaders will resonate with it. It can change the health care game.”

To mark the occasion of this Harvard appearance, Mr. Axelrod is inviting healthcare professionals to experience “Sole-Role-Goal” and the science of Axiology in action. Interested parties can visit his website, www.soulrolegoal.com and request a customized value profile report and receive an audio library of soul-role-goal and values training.

Says Axelrod, “If there were ever a time for NEW it's NOW! Healthcare is ripe for transformation. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share this new model health care leaders can use to transform themselves, enhance the patient experience and create a whole new health care game.
