Mar 19, 2015 /prREACH/ -- ADELAIDE, S.A. -- Dr. Michael Adams will be awarding one scholarship to a high school and college student to help with their college tuition or expenses.

To qualify for this exciting contest, applicants must be a high school student looking to pursue a post-secondary education in university or community college or a college student in Adelaide who is pursuing a four-year degree with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. Each applicant must be a resident of Adelaide and possess the leadership skills and the dedication that is necessary to pursue post-secondary education.

To be successful in winning the scholarship, students have to write an 800 word essay. The topic is about the importance of a college education even though there are numerous resources on the Internet today. Students will have to research benefits to a college education and write the essay. They will have to debunk the myth that students without a college degree can get high-paying jobs.

The scholarships are $250 for college expenses. Each essay must be completely original, unique and persuasive. The two prizes will be awarded in the spring and in the fall. An executive team from Adams Dental will review all entries submitted to the dental office. They will be judged on the quality of the writing, the critical argument that has been presented and originality. All essays must be received before by April 1 for the spring award and Oct. 1 for the autumn prize.

The winners will be notified via email and the names will also be posted on the Facebook page on April 30 and Oct. 31.
