Apr 20, 2015 /prREACH/ -- To commemorate Earth Day 2015, 4Patriots LLC Partner Allen Baler will offer complimentary access to the company’s Off-Grid Living DVD for a limited time. The DVD shows in great detail how a young couple in Colorado is living completely off the U.S. electrical grid by powering their modern home with solar and wind energy.
Scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, with a global theme of “It’s Our Turn to Lead,” Earth Day 2015 will include a wide variety of environmental activities involving millions of people in hundreds of countries. Baler suggests that the best way for homeowners to contribute to the preservation of the Earth is to get off the electrical grid and generate their own solar and wind power.
Normally priced at $19.95, the DVD is a 75-minute, behind-the-scenes video designed for people who are considering becoming self-sufficient by generating some or all of their own energy through solar and wind power.
This complete guided tour of a home with all the modern conveniences and appliances in which a couple has been living completely off grid for the past five years walks the viewer through all of the technology used to power the system.
The tour includes close-up looks and explanations of the home’s solar panel array, batteries, charge controller and inverter setup, and includes tips regarding passive solar heating and wind turbine installation.
This walk-through of a 100 percent off-grid home shows viewers how to use the sun and wind to heat and cool their homes, how to wire solar panels and wind turbines for maximum efficiency, and how to connect the battery bank, inverter and charge controller.
Narrated by the couple who live in the house, the Off-Grid Living DVD also explains the philosophy behind why it is so freeing to get off the vulnerable electrical grid and become self-reliant and independent of ever-rising energy bills. They answer the top five questions that people considering off-grid living have, and share their tips regarding what not to do. They also provide additional tips and tricks to help save money and maximize the system’s power.
Earth Day 2015 is coordinated by the non-profit Earth Day Network. This organization is chaired by the first Earth Day (1970) organizer, Denis Hayes, who says that Earth Day is now “the largest secular holiday in the world, celebrated by more than a billion people every year.”
Nashville, Tenn.-based 4Patriots LLC provides products that help people become more self-reliant and independent.
“Generating your own power so that you’re not dependent on a vulnerable electrical grid, gathering together a sustainable food supply to make sure you’re prepared for emergency situations such as we’ve seen in recent years with Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina…these are the types of things that we offer to help people become self-reliant,” Baler said.
