Sacramento, CA, Aug 27, 2019 /prREACH/ -- Asher College is honored to announce they have earned a 2019- 2020 Military Spouse Friendly® School designation. Asher was also awarded a Bronze designation on the 2019- 2020 Military Friendly® School list in the category of non-traditional schools. Produced annually by VIQTORY, the Military Friendly® School list recognizes schools that go above and beyond to accommodate military veterans.
In announcing the Military Spouse Friendly® Schools designation, Asher’s Director of Marketing, Kim Gasper, stated “Asher College is proud to honor the sacrifice of military families, and we are dedicated in our service to them. At Asher, we want the spouses of our active military to have every available opportunity for education.”
VIQTORY’s Military Spouse Friendly® School list is designed to be a comprehensive guide for military spouses looking to further their education. This year 196 schools earned this prestigious designation, including Asher College’s Sacramento, California and Dallas, Texas locations. The 2019- 2020 Military Spouse Friendly® Schools list will be published in the September issue of Military Spouse magazine. The list can also be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) which aims to connect the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, has produced the Military Friendly® Schools list since 2009. Military Friendly® Schools are described as those who strive towards and succeed in the areas that matter most in helping veterans make the transition from the military to school and, ultimately, satisfying careers in the civilian world. Earning the designation shows that the school has met the minimum criteria.
In order to fulfill its mission of providing both veterans and military spouses with the finest choices for post-secondary education, VIQTORY created the Military Spouse Friendly® Schools list. The Military Spouse Friendly® Schools list provides a reliable resource for military spouses and has set a standard for higher education institutions to provide the best post-secondary education experiences for spouses of service members. Brian Hucik, National Program Manager of Military Friendly®, said “The Military Spouse Friendly® Schools designation helps military spouses select schools that will support them in their education journey by meeting their unique needs as a part of a military family. Schools that are selected for the list are at the forefront of supporting the goals of military spouses.”
Asher College is proud of its long history of individualized student support and is pleased to be recognized for their ongoing efforts in supporting the military community. Asher College has been approved for Veterans benefits since 2002, and currently serves Veterans using Chapter 30, Chapter 31, Chapter 33 (Post 9-11), Chapter 35 and in some cases Chapter 1606 & 1607. Asher College has a Certifying Official at each campus who can help answer any questions and will assist with any of the paperwork needed to pursue enrollment. Each Asher campus is committed to seeking out local networking opportunities to bring awareness and resources to our Veterans and their families. Asher's customizable schedules, including evening, weekend, and accelerated courses, are designed to accommodate the busy and often-changing scheduling demands of military families.

VIQTORY creates the Military Friendly® School list annually. The Military Friendly® School list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for over 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.
