Jul 28, 2014 /prREACH/ -- Along the sunny Southern California coast is a prestigious community known as Newport Beach. Newport Beach has some of the most beautiful beaches and homes along the coast; and these Newport Beach homes for sale fetch some of the highest prices anywhere in the US. One may guess that attached to these expensive homes are large garages - garages that hold some of the most rare and vintage cars in the world. Most of these antique vehicles end up being very nice displays of ‘garage art’ for the owner, and few outside the family have a chance to see them.
Newport native, Marcel Ford, has a 1941 Ford and loves old cars. Ford said, “I was attending other car shows regularly but there seemed to be a high diversity of car owners and types of cars displayed. Then I thought why doesn’t Newport Beach have a show? Newport has to have more vintage cars than any other nearby city.” So Marcel started the Balboa Car Show to get these engines running and organize a local event so these fine cars can be appreciated by far more enthusiasts.
The other popular car shows around Newport are in either in a parking lot on a busy corner, or in a commercial industrial space. So clearly, Newport Beach has the best location of any car show venue. Ford suggests,“You take an auto ferry boat ride from Balboa Island or drive down legendary Balboa Boulevard to a historic destination with bay, pier and beach all around you – plus many great breakfast places to enjoy – the Balboa Car Show really has the best location!” says Ford. From historic 1909 racers to ultra-classics and military transport vehicles, Newport as the most unique selection of jaw-dropping cars that are shown weekly. And everyone is welcome, whether a spectator or someone with a desire to show off their “baby,” everyone is invited to this locally-loved event.
Admission is free and what’s more, there are free prizes every week for “Best in Show” car owners! The Balboa Car Show is nestled on a gorgeous harbor and ocean setting at Balboa Village’s Fun Zone parking lot on the corner of Balboa Blvd and Palm Street.
