A graduate of Cornell University, Sass is an established and successful entrepreneur who is currently Chief Marketing Officer of .CLUB Domains and Paw.com. He joined the .CLUB team in March 2012 and has led the company's marketing efforts through the process of acquiring and launching the .CLUB top-level domain. In 2019, Sass also took on the role of CMO for pet product e-commerce brand, Paw.com. Previously, Sass was Vice President and Chief Evangelist at Myxer between the years of 2007 to 2012, where he played a significant role in growing the mobile entertainment company into one of the top 15 mobile websites in the U.S.
Adding to his extensive list of credentials, Sass is a co-founder of Entrepreneur.Wiki and Social Object Factory. He is a regular speaker and panelist on domain names, mobile marketing, digital music, entrepreneurship and social media and has been an online instructor for the University of San Francisco's Mobile Marketing Program.
Sass has had numerous articles published in AdAge, Forbes, Entrepreneur, DMNews, Mobile Marketer, iMedia Connection and others. He was a co-host of the "Cast of Dads" podcast and has written regularly for several blogs, including Dadomatic.com, SocialNetworkingRehab.com and his personal blog, Sassholes! He also served as an Intel Advisor and Sony Digidad and is currently a member of the board of directors of The Domain Name Association (TheDNA.org).
Sass brings to the table over 35 years of experience in the technology and entertainment industries, having written and produced for film and television. He has developed a deep understanding of the content business that is unique for a tech executive. He spent seven years making low-budget action/horror films for legendary independent movie studio, Troma, home of THE TOXIC AVENGER.
The lessons he learned making B-movies have served him well in the C-Suite. This experience led him to author the book "Everything I Know about Business and Marketing, I Learned from THE TOXIC AVENGER." Sass explains, "My book is full of practical business and marketing insight and inspiration drawn from the often comical trials and tribulations of creating cult-classic independent films."
Farrar starts listeners off with a valuable piece of advice, "This is an absolute must. If you've listened to all the other podcasts, this is one of those podcasts that can change your brand. Jeff's got an interesting way of creating a brand, how to bring it across, the message...you're going to love this!"
Storytelling has historically been the primary means of communication, and Sass shares with everyone tuning into the show why Amazon and brand story are essential. "It's important right from the start because all good marketing is built upon good storytelling. You really need to understand how to tell a good story about your brand, about your product, and it starts with understanding that internal story because that is going to inform the external story."
Farrar and Sass continue to explore areas that private label sellers may have questions about, including what are the beginning steps to building a brand story and red flags with story branding.
Affectionately known as "The Beard Guy," Farrar has taken the knowledge he's gained from his impressive and highly successful career and is turning it into a teaching tool for his new focus as a business advisor. "This is why I became an entrepreneur, coach and mentor. I want to help people create a life that they find worth living!" says Farrar.
