Jul 28, 2015 /prREACH/ -- Dr. Gary Joh of Comfort Dentistry in Clinton Twp., MI is helping denture patients finally get the permanent smiles they have been dreaming of since experiencing tooth loss using the latest dental implant technology, and with a quick, affordable process, too. Using mini dental implants, Dr. Joh is able to give patients fixed permanent dentures that eliminate the need for squishy adhesive pastes and cushions and loose, ill-fitted dentures. Best of all, the process can be completed in just one office visit, usually lasting less than two hours.
Mini dental implants are about half the size in diameter of standard dental implants, and instead of requiring invasive surgery and drilling, they can simply be inserted through the gum tissue into the jawbone using only local anesthetic. Because of the small size of the implants, they also don’t require any downtime. In fact, many patients only experience mild soreness and can chew with their new fixed dentures the very same day.
To fix the dentures to the gums, Dr. Joh inserts a series of 2-4 mini dental implants along the top and bottom arches of the patient’s mouth. The implants act like the root of the tooth and the top ball shape snaps easily into the retaining socket that is installed in the denture units. When seated, the dentures rest gently on the gum tissue and the majority of forces are absorbed by the implants themselves.
Dr. Joh has been in full-time private practice since 1988 and has more than 25 years of experience in the dental industry. He stays on the leading edge of dental technology and attends numerous hours of continuing dental education courses each year.
