Invisalign is becoming one of the most popular orthodontic treatments due to the fact that the soft, clear plastic aligners are nearly invisible when worn. Unlike the metal wires and brackets used with traditional braces, Invisalign also offers patients a more comfortable treatment period beyond just improved appearances.

Each Invisalign patient is provided with a series of 12-32 different clear aligners that are replaced approximately every two weeks. As patients progress through their series of aligners, the clear plastic trays apply gradual force to the teeth that slowly shifts them into alignment over a treatment period of 9-18 months. Because the force applied to the teeth with the aligners is different than that of metal wires and brackets, Invisalign patients experience much less pain and discomfort than traditional braces patients do.
