COLUMBIA, SC, May 21, 2019 /prREACH/ -- A company leading the way in socially conscious sunwear and eye wellness continues to take positive steps toward its core mission of restoring sight and providing eye care globally. Eye Love, producer of affordable eye care products and dry eye syndrome solutions, has recently completed a mission trip offering services to over three thousand in Todos Santos, Mexico, yet another initiative of the company’s foundation, Eye Love Cares.
Drs. Jenna and Travis Zigler, co-founders of Eye Love, began the company in 2015 with the ultimate goal of building permanent eye care clinics in areas around the world lacking appropriate quality eye care. After establishing the Eye Love Cares Foundation, they have successfully completed numerous mission trips to under-serviced areas around the world.
Dr. Jenna Zigler, spokesperson for Eye Love says, “The Eye Love Cares Foundation was created after we realized that there are many parts of the world that do not have access to quality eye care. The Eye Love Cares Foundation funds these trips, allowing us to purchase sunglasses, eyeglasses and equipment that might be needed for these missions, so that we can help bring better quality of life through better vision to people who need it locally and globally. We donate a portion of Eye Love profits back to Eye Love Cares Foundation, and we are immensely proud of what we have accomplished so far. There is still a long road ahead, however, and we continue to strive towards better vision for all.”
On their most recent mission trip to Todos Santos, the team saw 1,882 patients in their downtown clinic over four busy days, combined with 1,231 students screened in local schools personally by the Ziglers, for a total of 3,113 patients serviced. These patients received sunglasses, eyeglasses if needed, and referrals to more specialized care if required. Drs. Jenna and Travis Zigler made their trip along with Sight is a Right.
According to Eye Love, over 700 million people are blind due to lack of eyeglasses. As active members of Great Shape! Inc, the Foundation travels to Jamaica every year as part of the iCARE project, where it gives eye examinations and dispenses eyeglasses to those in need.
“The Eye Love Cares Foundation allows us to educate and provide aid and relief to those who need it most in the United States and abroad. Giving vision to those who thought they had lost it is our ultimate reward. We work closely with grassroots organizations like Great Shape! Inc and Sight is a Right to do this. We’ve contributed almost $150,000 to date to the Eye Love Cares Foundation, and pledge to contribute $300,000 by the end of 2021,” says Zigler.
