Feb 01, 2016 /prREACH/ -- Oregon Hot Tub, a hot tubs, swim spas and saunas dealer serving Hillsboro, Portland, Beaverton, Bend, Wilsonville Oregon and Vancouver Washington shares "Three Simple New Year’s Resolutions For A Healthier Life”.
“Getting healthier and fit is a common New Year’s goal. Most resolutions fail within the first few weeks of January, however, according to a poll posted in the Journal of Clinical Psychology,” said Sue Rogers, CEO of Oregon Hot Tub. “In fact, according to the poll, 75% fail in the very first week.”
“Less than half of all New Year’s resolutions make it past the six month mark, and of those, only 8% end up going all the way through the year,” continued Rogers. “Make the types of resolutions that will stand the test of time, and provide a better life for everybody in the household by making health goals smart, simple and fun.”
Here are three simple New Year’s resolutions for a healthier life that will work for anyone.
Re-Route to Avoid Fast Food – Good food means a good diet, and fast-foods are loaded with all of the things people need to avoid in order to be healthier. Even one fast-food meal a day can add 1000s of calories to a diet. That’s right. One fast-food meal can equal as much as an entire day’s worth of calories, and most of the nutritional value is far lacking in quality. Fast-foods are typically full of fats, sugars and absolutely loaded with salt.
Instead of fast-foods, spend an hour or so a week and prepare healthy take along meals and snacks, freeze or store them so everyone in the family can grab what they need at the beginning of the day in order to pass by those tempting quick food stops while they are on the go.
If there are certain temptations that are hard to resist on a daily basis, find a way to re-route a trip to work or school that by-passes those spots. It doesn’t take long for the desire to go away, and after a week or two, it is usually safe to go back to a former route without temptation.
Become a Camel – Camels carry their own water so they are never without in the desert. People don’t have to live in a desert to worry about having a supply of good tasting water available at all times. Carry a water bottle everywhere so the temptation to reach for a sugary soda or drink isn’t an issue.
Drinking more water will improve several areas of health. The entire body uses water to work more effectively, even the brain. Drinking water helps people think more clearly and absorb knowledge better. Get kids started off during the New Year on a plan to increase water intake too.
Get a Hillsboro Hot Tub – Create a fun and inviting place in the home or yard that will bring family and friends together to enjoy each other’s company while relaxing and getting rid of tension and stress. The warm, soothing water and powerful jets of a hot tub work out the kinks and aches of muscle strains, while helping reduce anxiety and blood pressure levels. A study by Mayo Clinic researcher Thomas G. Allison, Ph.D., showed that soaking in a hot tub every day for just 30 minutes lowers blood pressure levels and is good for cardio health.
To show people the benefits of soaking in a hot tub at home, Oregon Hot Tub will be providing free hot tub and swim spa wet tests for the entire month. They do recommend however that people wanting to schedule their free 30-minute wet test call ahead of time to reserve their spot.
