A report published by the NIH, showed that not only have humans bonded with pets for centuries, evidence showed that people as far back as 12,000 years ago were caring pet owners who loved their animals.
Dr. Ann Berger, researcher at NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland said that the bond between pets and people is powerful. Studies have shown that having pets helps improve cardiovascular health, mental well-being and even improves human-to-human relationships between pet owners.
