Jul 02, 2015 /prREACH/ -- On Friday, June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal with a historic 5-4 Supreme Court decision. For brides, Samatha Triana and Alyssa Solano, this was a dream come true.
Samantha Triana and Alyssa Solano were high school acquaintances who re-connected on Valentine’s Day in 2011 and fell madly in love. Last year, they decided to book a commitment ceremony at Castle Avalon with Everlasting Elopements, Texas’ premier small wedding specialists. Little did they know that when they chose Friday, June 26th for their special day, that the Supreme Court would make same-sex marriage legal.
At the ceremony, over a hundred friends and family members gathered to see the couple united. As the bride, Samantha, made her way down to her partner Alyssa, tears came to the eyes of all. Reverend Audie Henry, of Texas Wedding Ministers, happily performed the services, and stated afterwards how honored she was to be a part of such a momentous occasion. “Wed We Can,” she stated.
Since the ruling, Everlasting Elopements has vigorously been making phone calls to the over 100 same-sex couples they've performed commitment ceremonies for in the past two years, offering to have their marriage license legalized.
