Rapid City, SD, Mar 24, 2020 /prREACH/ -- National American University (NAU) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with the International Virtual Learning Academy in Henderson, Nevada to offer dual-credit classes for IVLA students. This dual enrollment program is the first offered by NAU to any high school.

The relationship between the two institutions allows IVLA students to enroll in dual-credit courses with NAU. Upon graduation, students can apply college credit they earned toward an Associate or Bachelor’s degree at National American University. Under the agreement, NAU will provide IVLA students the opportunity to participate in online dual-credit classes at a reduced tuition rate and study when and where they choose.

“National American University has a long history of working with non-traditional students to help them take the next step in their education and career journey. We are excited to work with International Virtual Learning Academy to offer high school students an opportunity to get a head start on their college degree, and continue their education online,” commented Dr. Ronald Shape, National American University President.

Dual-credit classes are available to IVLA students in 9th-12th grade who maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA. Classes are offered in writing and communications, math, science, humanities, psychology/sociology and foreign language.

IVLA is an accredited K-12 online private school. IVLA is also accredited by AdvancED, the largest community of education professionals in the world, including the U.S. and 70 other nations. IVLA offers NCAA-approved courses that students can take so they may qualify for college eligibility. IVLA’s accredited and individually customized educational programs have made IVLA an established leader in online school learning.

“We at International Virtual Learning Academy are honored to be the first school to partner with NAU in a dual enrollment program. We are thrilled to provide our high school students the opportunity to get a head start on a college career through a distinguished University like National American University,” says Brittany Knop, IVLA’s Director.
