Jul 17, 2014 /prREACH/ -- There are 7.6 million women-owned businesses in the U.S., generating $1.2 trillion in receipts and $217.6 billion in payroll, according to WIPP, a national, nonpartisan public policy organization, advocating on behalf of women-owned businesses in this country.

Starling Media Services, Inc. has been based in Sacramento for 13 years.  Ms. Starling is a Marketing Innovation Expert who uses her unique marketing training program, the Millionaire's Marketing Matrix™, to help women business owners double their business results.  Ms. Starling is also the author of Why 5% Succeed: The Five Principles of Predictable Profit. She comments, "Research illustrates that successful women business owners leverage their businesses to make a difference in their communities, their industries and the nation." WIPP is an integral part of Ms. Starling's business life, "The WIPP Annual Meeting is a must-attend event because of the ready access to extraordinary business women, the illuminating insights into national policy and how it impacts women in business, and the cordial and collaborative discussions with national government officials."

“Given that women-owned businesses comprise nearly 30 percent of all U.S. businesses, and are growing at twice the rate of other businesses, it is critically important for them to have a seat at the table in Washington D.C. as policies are being created that will impact their business and the economic climate,” added Barbara Kasoff, president and founder of WIPP.

WIPP delegates will participate in a Senate Committee on Small Business hearing on women’s entrepreneurship to review government programs that assist women owned firms and their effectiveness and discuss topics such as the women's federal procurement program, training and counseling, and lending programs for women entrepreneurs. The House Small Business Committee is also hosting a meet and greet event for us to discuss issues important to women-owned businesses.

"The advocacy training WIPP delivers has helped me in every aspect of my business.  I met my book co-author at one of the annual meetings and I've had opportunities to interview Legacy Leaders because of our connection through WIPP,“ added Ms. Starling.   To hear more from women business owners who attend the WIPP leadership meeting, watch these: WIPP Entrepreneur Testimonials
