Even the youngest members of the household can enjoy giving back to the community in their own ways.
Make a family event out of picking up trash at local parks to keep the area clean for all of the neighborhood children to enjoy. Spend an hour at a local soup kitchen helping to feed others who are less fortunate to give back, and teach the children in the family to appreciate the wonderful things they have. Reading to housebound elderly neighbors, nursing home residents or sick children in hospitals is another very fulfilling way to spend a few hours a week.
