Nov 10, 2015 /prREACH/ -- Grace for Vets announced today that Sheetz Inc. has enrolled their 140 car washes to participate in the Veterans Day event. Over 3,200 car washes in four countries will partake in the one day event where carwashes will offer free washes to veterans and active duty personnel on November 11th. Sheetz will also be offering a free six inch sandwich and drink to veterans at all of their locations.
Mark Curtis, President of the Grace for Vets Board, expressed his excitement when he learnd from Scott Soisson at Sheetz that they would be joining them on Veterans Day. “It's fantastic that a major operator like Sheetz wants to honor those who have served or are serving in the military in this way.”
The addition of the Sheetz washes, located in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina, increases the record number of participating carwashes for 2015. Last year, 2875 washes gave away close to 234,000 free washes. The group hopes to surpass the 300,000 free wash mark this year.
Mike Mountz, formerly owner of the four Cloister Car Washes in Pennsylvania, began Grace for Vets in 2004 and it has grown every year since its inception. Mountz turned over the operation of Grace for Vets to the International Carwash Association and a volunteer board headed by Curtis.
Mountz added that he couldn’t be happier with the way they’re running it. Mountz hopes to welcome operators from new countries to next year’s effort believing that every country should honor those who fought for them. Currently, operators from the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand participate in the one day event.
