Apr 10, 2014 /prREACH/ -- Sierra Commons, Nevada County's only co-working facility, will be hosting an Open House Mixer on Wednesday, April 30th from 5pm-7pm at their office location at 792 Searls Ave, Suite A in Nevada City. The public is invited to experience the fun and collaborative atmosphere that co-working and Sierra Commons has to offer. Members and administration will be on hand to answer questions about Sierra Commons' services and co-working facility. Memberships are now available and Sierra Commons is seeking professional and community-minded people to share their office with.

At the Open House Mixer, Sierra Commons will introduce their newest board members, reveal recent conference room renovations and offer a special discount on their nomadic membership, which allows people to have access to their wonderful co-working facility. Sierra Commons serves the community in a variety of ways. To rent the conference room, inquire about membership or to get more information, please call the Sierra Commons at (530) 265-8443 or email [email protected]

“At Sierra Commons, we share a fax machine, high-speed internet and an address, but we share so much more than that,” says board member Hilary Hodge. “It is a place to share ideas and to receive support for those ideas.” Sierra Commons is an inspired professional community, a place where coworkers share their knowledge, skills and energy, working together in an atmosphere that flourishes with collaboration. It is a business ignitor, a campus where entrepreneurs come together to thrive. In addition to offering desk space to small business owners and independent contractors, Sierra Commons offers business mentoring, classes, conference room rentals, day-use access and more. By hosting a mixer, Sierra Commons is opening their doors to the public so that they can experience Sierra Commons first-hand.

“I look forward to working at Sierra Commons every day because of the intelligent and energetic people that I get to be around,” says Abe Meissler, Sierra Commons member. Abe works remotely as a software engineer and uses Sierra Commons as his home office Monday-Friday. He has been a member at Sierra Commons for almost two years.

Sierra Commons is not just a co-working facility but also a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency which serves as an education center for small businesses in the community. Through their collaborative atmosphere, their classes and their mentoring sessions, Sierra Commons creates business people who expand Nevada County's professional climate and talent pool, eventually attracting still more entrepreneurs and small businesses. All of this means economic growth for the community – more jobs, increased tax revenue, stronger consumer confidence, and expanding market opportunities.
