A spirited family board game, it lets players experience the U.S. National Parks in all its glory but in a fun and competitive way that the entire family can enjoy together.
According to Charlie Binks, spokesperson for the company, “We wanted to bring families together so they can share a fun experience that promotes the national parks and a love for the outdoors.”
The game was created when John and Terry Binkele, having decided to cross off the major items on their bucket list, visited all the National Parks in North America. Their journey inspired them to create a board game along with their son Charlie, a board game that can both educate as well as create immense joy for the people playing it.
The gameplay of “Trekking: The National Parks” involves players competing for points by claiming Park Cards and collecting trail stones as they travel across the country experiencing the wonders at each of these magnificent landscapes. Designed by Charlie, this game includes multiple pictures clicked by John during his many travels.
He continues, “John and Terry put their retirement to use by pursuing a massive adventure that they always wanted to go on - exploring all the National Parks in North America. Their incredible journey and the innumerable pictures clicked by John using his Canon were the inspiration behind the making of this game. Not only did this help the family get closer to each other, but it has also helped educate other families and maybe help them explore these national parks themselves.”
Winner of Mensa Select, the annual award given by American Mensa to board games that are original, challenging, and funny, the second edition of this game is now available for sale at the website of Underdog Games, the publisher of this game.
