To help business professionals gain the advantage of using social media for marketing and branding effectively, Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Office of Continuing Education & Off-Campus Programs has teamed with Tamara (Tami) Patzer, professor if social media and internet marketing, to present “Social Media Marketing for Your Business,” a 7-week certification program beginning Sept 29 online.
The course is offered in an online format. The program includes a live introduction workshop of 1.5 hours, 17 hours of online instruction, and a live 1.5-hour wrap-up workshop. Tuition is $250, and basic computer knowledge is a prerequisite. To register, go to http://registerce.fgcu.edu.
Program objectives include: setting up eight major social profiles (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, WordPress Blog, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, and Flickr). It includes content scheduling and automation, understanding analytics, social media integration, social network optimization, design and implementation of social media strategy, integration tools, social media ROI tracking, results evaluation, and more.
“If you are responsible for your organization’s online social media presence, this is an ideal start,” says Professor Patzer.
Patzer is also offering a second certificate program called Social Media Content - Brand Creation for Your Business starting in November. The online course will help people create their online brand from start to finish. “It is ideal for anyone who is looking at creating a social media brand to attract new clients and customers,” Patzer said.
The courses are taught using online video, workbooks and guided instruction and will also include some live webinars. “These courses are perfect for building a solid marketing foundation for business,” Patzer said.
