Anthony Melchiorri is a hospitality business veteran with over 20 years of experience. He was responsible for developing and repositioning America's most high-profile properties, including the landmark Algonquin Hotel and the first Nickelodeon Hotel. Known in the industry for his commitment to excellence and direct, honest style, he empowers people to take ownership of issues and make meaningful decisions relating to their work and lives.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Melchiorri was brought up in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood. His long and rewarding journey in the hospitality industry is all about overcoming struggle. He started his career as a Night Auditor at the Embassy Suites in Overland Park, Kansas. Later on, he worked as a night hotel manager at the Plaza Hotel. In the next four years, he made his way up continuously to reach the position of Director of Front Office Operations. He worked with the Lucerne Hotel as general manager and was instrumental in selecting the Lucerne as the Best Service Hotel by the New York Times Travel Guide.
Melchiorri has also served as an executive producer for the cable-movie, "Wisegal" in 2008. Along with fellow executive producer Leo Rossi, he developed the idea of a hotel-improvement show that resulted in Travel Channel's popular series, Hotel Impossible. Every episode of this series has Melchiorri and his team renovating a hotel with issues in less than a week. The program is entering its 9th season. The Travel Channel is all set to expand Melchiorri's role by including two new shows, "Hotel Impossible: Five Star Secrets" and "Hotel Impossible: Showdown." Melchiorri has also hosted Extreme Hotels, a show that ran for just one season.
